Taraneh is a fifteen-year-old student whose mother has passed away and whose father is in prison, so she lives with her grandmother. One day, Amir confesses his love to Taraneh and decides to marry her. Since they’re both still students, they enter a temporary marriage (sigheh) as a way to become religiously “mahram,” with the plan to have a permanent marriage later. After a while, Taraneh finds out that Amir has been involved in immoral relationships with several other girls, and she decides to leave him. They separate and Amir goes to Germany, but some time later Taraneh realizes she is pregnant.
